FYI,
Marie(wife) and I attended our good friend Dennis Hayes advancement ceremony to senior master sgt. in the USAF. Dennis and his wife Mellisa and thier four daughters have been instrumental working with Space Coast Honor Flight for the last three years and prior to that with the group from Wyoming. Three WWII vets attended Dennis's advancement and later he re-upped with LT. General Bill Welser re-signing him .Dennis works at The Cape Canavaral Air Force Station. General Welser is the president of SCHF and we just sent off another 25 vets to Washington, the first of seven groups this year.
It has been a pleasure and an honor to be associated with this oustanding organization.

My father Sidney Lee Bell served on the Markad 60-64. He was a MP-A in the eng. room. If anyone remembers him please send me a message, I would love to hear your stories.
My father passed away on Aug 21. 2010. I miss his stories and now with I would have done more with him. I have lots of photos and have no clue who they are of. If anyone remembers him and is willing to help me put names with some faces and places that they went I would greatly appreciate it.

I received an email from Jayne Angle looking for information about her father from anyone who knew him.
He was an EM3 onboard from 8/17/45 to 8/1/46.

Good Morning,

I have tried on many occasions to locate the shipmates of my late Father Jack Ellsworth Barr who sailed 1944-46 (I think) I have to look at his papers again.

Anyway, how should I go about trying to find a reunion group that he would of sailed with? I now realize that the USS MARKAB sailed many times and many crews were changed in and out of service.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

My dad, Dan Merryfield, served on AR23 in the early/mid-60s. I believe he was an FC3 when he got out. Does anyone remember him? He's talked about a LT Dusty Rhodes quite a bit and has caught up with Ed Fuentes.
